Design Technology

Design technology requires pupils to be creative thinkers: to look for opportunities and needs in order to develop products and systems in order to improve the quality of life. To be informed users of products and the innovators of the future, our pupils handle a wide range of materials (eg paper, cotton, plastic) to determine their properties and suitability for purpose. They are progressively taught practical skills (such as cutting and joining) and apply them in topic work. They are encouraged to be creative taking into account aesthetics and evaluate their products so that they can be improved.
